Committees
Adult Education
The Adult Education Committee works to develop and organize programs with focus on Jewish culture (music, art, literature, food, film,) Israel, Bible study, spirituality and mysticism, the environment, history, current events, and more. We provide an annual brochure, which showcases all the Adult Education Committee programs scheduled for the current calendar year. Hard copies are available in the temple lobby and event flyers are publicized in the weekly congregational Ebast and are sent to committee members via email in advance.
The Adult Education Committee is always seeking new members. We have a Zoom meeting every third Thursday of the month at 4:00 PM. We invite you to attend a meeting, join the committee, or register for
any of our programs.
Israel
The Israel Committee has been an integral part of MRT since its founding. Our mission is to engage and educate congregants about the history of Israel from statehood to today, and to foster informed, meaningful connection.
We bring Israel to our community through classes, discussions, photographs, and guest speakers that highlight the richness and vibrancy of Israeli life while thoughtfully exploring the country’s ongoing challenges and future.
In recent years, we have hosted open and respectful conversations about the war between Hamas and Israel, with particular attention to the events of October 7 and their aftermath. As a congregation, we affirm Israel’s right to exist.
