Our
Curriculum

At Monmouth Reform Temple Religious School, we meet every child where they are and make sure each one feels welcome, valued, and connected — to friends, teachers, our synagogue, our traditions, and the future we share as Jews. Because every learner is different, we thoughtfully provide accommodations and modifications when needed so each student can grow, succeed, and reach their personal best as a learner and as a Jewish person.

Our program is built on three big ideas:

Building Jewish Identity

We want our students to feel confident and proud as Jews while growing in knowledge, curiosity, and compassion. Our classrooms are places where children feel supported, successful, and connected to a vibrant Jewish community.

Exploring Jewish Learning

Learning here is both serious and joyful. Students develop Hebrew skills, explore Jewish history, holidays, customs, and services, and deepen their understanding of Jewish life. Families are important partners in this journey, reinforcing the learning and experiences we share together.

Living Our Values Through Action

Judaism calls us to help repair the world. Through tzedakah and meaningful service projects, our students learn that even small acts can make a real difference — caring for people in need, protecting our earth, and bringing comfort and kindness to others.

Religious School Schedule

The best way for students to build confidence, friendships, and a lasting connection to Jewish life is through consistent participation in class. At the same time, we recognize that today’s family schedules can be complex, and we are always willing to talk through scheduling challenges and find workable solutions together.

* Seventh grade is an exciting milestone year as students prepare to become Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Along with weekly meetings with the Cantor to work on blessings, Torah, and Haftarah portions, students continue their Jewish learning in religious school. During this special preparation period, 7th grade classes meet once per week.
