Tinton Falls Cooperative Nursery School was founded in 1973 as a non-sectarian parent cooperative. In 2001, we added a Non Co-op Plan for working parents. We continue to attract families who want an individually focused learning environment for their children. Our fully accredited programs have been tailored to meet the needs of the local community.

We promise a nurturing and supportive environment with encouraged parental involvement. Our programs are designed to enhance emotional growth and social skill development, which lead to better learning, creativity and healthy physical activity. Our discipline policy is based on firm, yet gentle persuasion to encourage cooperation.

We treat children to an environment in which social skills can develop as well as a cooperative spirit that will provide a foundation for a smooth transition to highter grades.

Staff, children and parents can share the joy of being together, working together, and building memories while being a part of TFCNS.

Our Kindergarten Enrichment Program is very popular! We incorporate an integrated approach in the following areas:

• Reading and Writing
• Spelling and Handwriting
• Math
• Social Studies
• Music
• Art
• Physical Education

  Our classes offer small group settings with individual attention. Our goal is to create meaningful learning experiences through multi-sensory hands-on activities by:

  • Sounding out words for reading and spelling
  • Writing in journals
  • Dictating stories
  • Using manipulatives for counting, adding and subtracting
  • Creating art projects related to stories read by the teacher

Incorporating seasonal themes into daily activities.

All of our teachers are certified. We can boast of an impressive record of longevity, with an average tenure of 8 years. Our school Director, Bobbie LaPlaca, has Nursery School Certification as well as certification in early childhood education and K-8. Parents and aides assist our teachers on a daily basis, insuring a student/teacher ratio of no more than 6:1 which provides added individual attention and good supervision. They all contribute to making TFCNS special!
