I was 17 years old when I traveled to Israel with a group of teens and lived there for 6 weeks. Those six weeks changed course of my life. Israel left me profoundly aware of my deep connection to Judaism and a feeling of personal responsibility for its future. I will never be able to thank my parents enough for the opportunity-which they had never taken themselves. In 1994, I lived in Israel for 15 months while studying at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in my first year of Cantorial School. This was the chance of a lifetime-John and I will never forget our time in Israel. Three years ago my parents were finally able to go and returned feeling even more deeply connected to Judaism. In fact, over the past 20 years everyone I know who has gone to Israel returned transformed and deeply moved after living in Eretz Yisrael. With this in mind, I hope you will consider joining our temple family on a trip to Israel next summer from July 12 to July 23, 2010. I will be leading the trip with the help of IsraelExperts.
