As Jews we have many mitzvot that we may perform. One of the most important to me is the support of Israel. There are many voices we hear about policies, practices, and politics when it comes to Israel. Each of us has our own viewpoint on these matters.

One area is clear; the stronger our Movement in Israel the better for all members of Israeli society. I have made the personal commitment to help build the Reform Movement in Israel by joining the ARZA Rabbinic Cabinet. ARZA is our Association of Reform Zionist of America.

ARZA has helped lead our opposition to the current conversion bill in the Israeli Knesset. More importantly, support of ARZA is how we build our Israeli movement. It is through ARZA that the basic infrastructure of the Israel Religious Action Center is enabled in its work. It is through ARZA that the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism (the Israeli equivalent of the URJ) is able to support congregations, start new congregations, and be the voice of liberal Judaism in the public square of Israeli society.
